by Dave Morris - Right after restoring my old Jet band saw, the first thing I wanted to do was resaw some usable wood from a pile of redwood slats that came from some old wine vats. They were curved in both length and width, and covered with years of crust. This would make the job both messy and dangerous on a tablesaw, plus a table saw did not have the necessary cutting height to resaw a slat is width. Hmmm, time to make a band saw outfeed table.
This is a link to a Google 3D SketchUp drawing for a quick and easy circle cutting jig for your bandsaw. You will need the SketchUp software to download this drawing and its freely available online. We do not provide support for this software. Not all drawings have the measurements displayed but you can use the measurement tool in SketchUp to easily and accurately determine the dimensions of each lumber part. Most drawings do not have instructions, its assumed you can build it based on the completed drawing provided.
We will get started by first taking a look at the drawing. I imagine you will immediately notice the absence of overall measurements - that is because this jig will be specific to your individual bandsaw.
