It all starts when the grandchildren ask you to build them a dollhouse. This dollhouse features large rooms and plenty of access. Fewer rooms means less furniture to build too. Five rooms in all including a hallway. It also features an easy to build spiral staircase that goes from the lounge room to the hall upstairs. The building itself is wide and narrow, featuring a 45 degree slope hip roof and comes off completely. The front of the building opens up with 2 doors. With the success of our 4 room Victorian Barbie Dollhouse, 04-FS-152, we dug through our archives to produce this two room Barbie Doll House. We actually designed this dollhouse back in the 1970s when we were producing fully built scale model wood product for the tole painting industry. This project was a popular seller. We have revived the design and now offer it for sale in this easy to make woodworking plan. We improved on the original design by correcting the scale, updated the style of furnishings and even added more furniture. In the plan are the following details to build; a two room house with a deluxe fireplace with logs and adirons, shutters and planter boxes by the windows and a 13 piece furniture set. A beautiful wall mounted Regulator clock is scaled from full size design. You could even fit a small clock movement on the face. The patterns for the furniture and many of the house designs are drawn full size. We include patterns to make curtain rods to allow you to add curtains to both windows. Picture frames of different sizes could be made to fit photos for added realism. A scaled Queen bed includes decorative headboard, pillow and foot bench. The building has a flat back so it could be mounted on the wall to allow for playroom underneath... or to pass the vacuum. You can make this project from common pine lumber 12 inches wide and some 1/4 inch plywood. Easy to make in a weekend.

Full sized drawings printed on 11x17 inch paper. In the left half of the house is an ornamental fold-down bed with pillows. Then a mirrored dresser and stool next to an armoire that opens for Barbies clothes. An ironing board folds down from the inside and a wood iron stores nearby. The right side of Barbies home has a stylish fireplace with double columns and routed wood appointments. A mantle clock and framed photo are over the mantle. A table, two lamps and a Vienna regulator clock accompany a pillow covered sofa. Stylish windows are boarded with shutters and a planter. The fold-out extension on the left features an apple tree, an arbor and gates and garden implements. The extension to the right has a fence, garden bench, potted plants, and a yard light. Barbies pets are nearby. Vine and floral works cover exterior walls with hummingbirds and butterflies. Easy to make. Shingles top both roofs. The open house spans 6 feet.
