With over 1 million views, the step-by-step video for making this DIY modern chair is easy to follow, easy to assemble, and affordable to make if you use PAR pine that you can buy at your nearest Builders Warehouse.

If you don't want to make your own seat cushions, modify the measurements to fit ready-made cushions that you will find at Mr Price Home, or home decor stores. Below are a variety of seat cushions (50 x 50mm) and back cushions (50 x 50mm), and for this chair you could buy the seat cushions and add complementary plain or patterned cushions in your choice of colour.

3 of 67 x 67 x 610mm PAR pine - frame back, seat back/front

4 of 67 x 67 x 560mm PAR pine - legs

2 of 38 x 38 x 543mm PAR pine - seat supports cut to fit

GOOD TO KNOW: For all my South African readers, I have amended some of the materials used for this project to reflect locally available items, since most of the lumber used for this project is not available.
