How to build a putting green

Building the main frame

Building the main frame

The first step of the project is to build the main frame for the putting green. Cut the components from 2×4 lumber. Align the edges with attention and make sure the corners are right-angled. Drill pilot holes through the rim joists and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the perpendicular components.

Building the long frame

Next, you need to assemble the other frame. Drill pilot holes through the rim joists and insert 2 1/2″ screws into the 33″ long components. Place the joists equally-spaced for a professional result.

Continue the project by locking the two frames together. Place the frames on a level surface and align the edges with attention. Drill pilot holes and insert at least 4 3″ lag bolts to lock the frames together tightly.
