INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut the front of the body by setting the table saw blade to 9.5 degrees. Do not bevel the back of the body yet. At this point, the base of the body should be 4 3/8 inches long. A sander may also be used to remove the wood.

2. Cut the front of the cab by setting the table saw blade to 27 degrees. Do not bevel the back of the cab yet. At this point, the base of the cab should be 3 inches long.

3. Finish sand the front of the cab and top of the body only. Then glue the cap to the body aligning the back and sides of the two pieces. Use clamps to hold the pieces together while the glue dries.
   (Note: If glue oozes out from the front of the cab, do not wipe it off. Let it dry in droplets and then use a chisel to remove it. If you try to wipe it off, it will smear on the hood and cause light spots when the finish is applied.)

4. Drill the headlight holes. Use a 3/8 inch drill bit. The holes are centered 7/16 inch from the sides and 3/8 inch from the bottom.

5. Cut the back bevel of the body and cap by setting the table saw blade to 8.7 degrees. A sander with a very coarse grit may also be used.

6. Sand the truck body, rounding all edges and corners.

7. Use the sander to bevel the sides and round the bottoms of the two axle supports. The supports are beveled to 1 in. at the top and 3/4 in. at the bottom.

8. Drill the axle holes in the axle supports. The holes are centered 1 3/32 inch down from the top. Use a 11/32 inch drill bit.

9. Glue and clamp the axle supports to the bottom of the body. They are located 3/8 inch from the front and 1/4 inch from the back and centered side to side.

10. Glue the 3/8 inch wood buttons into the headlight holes. When the glue has dried, sand the buttons so they are flat but still protrude from the body.

11. Trim the length of the axles to fit the axle supports and allow the wheel to turn freely.

12. Assemble the axles in the wheels and glue the axles to the axle supports.

13. When the glue has dried, ensure all wheels still turn freely and cannot be pulled off the body. Check for rough spots and sand if necessary.

14. Apply a finish. Note: It may be easier to apply some finishes before attaching the wheels to the body.
