We enjoy providing birds with good homes, but we dislike cleaning out bird houses every spring. We developed our Quick & Easy Birdhouses as a way to make maintenance much easier. The outside shell of the house is made of disposable materials and the wooden ends are reused the next year. Some quick work with a hammer or stapler and these houses are like new! We have found that this particular house is very popular with the Red Squirrels in our yard. We always put out a couple just so the Squirrels will leave the other birdhouses alone and not chew the entrance holes to enlarge them. Our Country and Folk Art patterns may be used exactly as presented but we intend them to be suggestions. By mixing and matching the shapes, projects and your individual skills in painting, wood burning, decals, etc. you can create an unlimited number of decorative projects! Most of these designs my be cut from 1/4 inch stock for applique, 1/2 or 3/4 inch stock for plaque-type projects and 1-1/2 inch thick stock for free standing projects. They may be dipped in paint, stain or a wash (thinned paint that has an appearance between paint and stain) or finely detail to fit your project and skills.
