Of the various whirligig projects I have designed, the airplanes from World War II are my favorites. The P-51 Mustang was originally designed and built for the British air force. It first saw action in 1940. Later, the P-51 was used in the American air force.

I find many push sticks somewhat unnerving to use. So I made a sturdy push block for my table saw that keeps my hand well above the blade. And the wide body of the block pushes the workpiece on both sides of the saw blade.

A lockable display case can be used to store and display guns, trophies or treasured heirlooms. The case shown is made of walnut, one of the most beautiful woods, and a classic for this type of project. The walnut was grown on the authorâs farm, harvested and air dried for about five years. The bottom doors are beautifully figured crotch walnut. Oak, pecan or cherry could also be used.

The combinations are only limited to the number of runs you create and place into position. The trick is to use strong magnets like rare earth magnet (they are not really rare). Stick them to your fridge or washing machine or where ever else a magnet will stick.
