Your boy will get a tremendous kick out of this modern transport truck, as a toy truck, and as a chest for his small toys when the day is done. The chest [can be] built of a 4x4 panel of 1/4 inch plywood, several feet of a 12 inch board and a few feet of 1x2. The rubber-tired wheels are of an easily obtained stock make. Six or ten may be used. The chest is simple to build with Pattern 1292, which shows irregularly-shaped parts in full size to trace on wood, and assembling details. Lettering for body and license plates is printed on the pattern, to cut out and paste on after finishing the wood.
The plan does offer a source for rubber tires (Sears Roebuck) but since this is an old pattern, the information is most likely out of date. Maybe you can find another source or maybe you have toys in your home that can be re-purposed for this project.
Plan Language: English, all measurements are inches/feet unless stated otherwise.
Tools needed: table saw, jig saw, drill and other common workshop tools
Condition of this recycled plan: Excellent (priced as marked), we have a copy of this plan available. Plan is printed on two sheets of 17 x 22 inch paper and one sheet of 9 x 22 inch paper.
This is a vintage plan. We classify a plan as vintage based on two primary conditions; 1. its at least 20 years old and/or 2. the company that produced the plan is no longer in existence. Vintage plans were typically printed many years ago, thus, they may not contain the same amount of detail as found in plans produced today and they may refer to hardware and terminology not currently in use today. The copy you see here is one that we acquired through the purchase of wholesale lots of woodworking plans from individuals, estate sales or inventory buy outs of companies no longer in business. We have inspected the plan to make sure its condition is suitable for sale. The price reflects its condition. Pictures we use are either ones directly from the plan, or from images we found online. Please see the larger image slideshow to see pictures (if available) of the item you will receive. This plan may reference hardware parts that are no longer available so please be flexible in your building process. We do not have sources for out-of-date parts unless otherwise stated in the description above.
