1 of 1-1/16 x 7-1/4 x 84 inch white oak
1 of 1-1/16 x 9-1/4 x 84 inch white oak.
You will also need eyebolts, nuts, washers, deck screws, 1/2 inch dowel, chain, glue, and exterior finish.

For the #31 series of plans (products that start with 31-MD- ), these are paper plans printed on 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper (or 11x17 inch paper) that will be mailed to you. This is a project plan which has exploded view diagrams, full color pages, full size pattern drawings for those complicated parts and reduced scale drawings for patterns larger than what can be printed on 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper. This project may be used two ways. It may be used with the included stand as a bench or glider, or it may be used without the stand as a porch swing when suspended from a ceiling joist or beam.
The gentle curves in the bottom and back make this porch swing very comfortable to sit in. The swing can be hung from a porch ceiling. If a porch is not available, an arbor structure will do the task, see our plan #W2278 for an appropriate sized arbor structure.
