Arched Garden Footbridge Woodworking Plan

Bridges are among the most spectacular and admired examples of mankinds desire to build. This span will turn your landscape into an object of admiration, even if you do not have a body of water to cross. Just create a dry-stream setting for your structure by laying down a bed of rounded pebbles as we did. If that sounds like making an excuse to build a bridge, you are right. But the more you look at this bridge, the more you will search for a reason to build it, too. Our design features arched construction for appearance and strength. Go ahead and load it up, this beautiful brute will not flex a bit. Copper spindles (made from common 3/4 inch plumbing pipe) and copper post tops complement the cedar components perfectly. Bridge is 36 inches wide and spans 97 inches.

Wood and Supplies needed:
We used cedar but you can use a wood of your choice. A full materials and supplies list is included with the plan.

Tools needed:
Drill, clamps, table saw, circular saw, router, and common hand tools.
