A classic style trunk but we have simplified the building process. It only requires one 4 x 8 sheet of plywood. The outer strips are made by re-sawing strips of 3/4 inch thick lumber. The tray slides forward and back as well as lifts out. This steamer trunk measures approximately 19 inches tall x 37 inches wide x 21 inched deep. This woodworking plan provides full size illustrations, exploded view diagrams, lumber layouts and instructions to make the project shown.

This European all-wood trunk is patterned after Old World steamer trunks. Except for the lid hinges and brass pin accents, everything is wood including handles, brackets, latches and a lock.
