Our new Noahs Ark project has been one our most enjoyable scrollsawing projects to date. Not only is it a wonderful display project but its durable enough to play with while at the time time teaching young folks about the Biblical story of Noah and his Ark. Overall, our full size patterns will guide you on building the Ark, along with the family of Noah and 30 assorted animals and birds. Make sure you look at the image slideshow (button is above). The Ark is shown here built with an assortment of hardwoods, nothing is painted, but that is not to say you cannot paint. The roomy ark a door that comes down to act as a loading ramp for the animals. The impressive designs allows for the entire half of the full to fold down to reveal two full decks of animal corrals. The house structure on top lifts on both port and starboard to reveal more stalls and perches. You can add wood buckets, barrels and bales of hay too. A unique part to this design is the cupola on top pivots around to reveal a colorful rainbow and a dove perched on top of the cupola with an olive branch in its mouth. This Noahs Ark project can be made almost 100 percent from wood. A small amount of hardware is needed and is detailed in the plan. While this is an ambitious scrollsaw project, it will in time to prove to be one of those true heirloom projects.
