Some birds, like Purple Martins, nest in flocks. These units may be joined into as big an apartment complex as you wish. Martins prefer a 2-1/2 inch entrance hole and a 6 x 6 x 6 inch cavity. They also prefer a platform to a perch. These units may be joined horizontally or vertically by attaching a mounting board to the backs of the apartments with 1-1/2 inch drywall screws. You may also hang the houses by connecting with screw eyes. We like to add an extra board to the top level for extra strength. Beginner skill level.
