Base may be 1/2 or 3/4 inch thick stock. This sample is 4-1/2 x 8-3/4 inches, but it may be longer to accommodate another piece such as a small Cow, cutout of a barn, dowel fence posts, etc. We try to make a small scene rather than just glue the piece to the base. A good size to feature on top of your mailbox.

This design features a half pattern that you print out and then flip over to get both parts of the pattern! The two pages fit together at the small circles to form the left side of the wreath and then the joined patterns are flipped over to form the right side of the wreath. These flowers are a simple project for window boxes, indoor planters or in the yard. Cut the leaves and flower from 3/4 inch pine. You may use a 3/8 inch diameter dowel as the stem, but we prefer steel strap or band. This is available at many hardware stores and you can usually pick up some scraps at your local lumberyard when they cut open bundles of lumber. We like the straps because the flowers will wave in the wind and look more realistic. Beginner skill level using a scrollsaw.
