This four-post bed can be made for a conventional mattress and box spring or for a water-filled mattress. Instructions, material lists and cutting diagrams for four sizes (king, queen, double/full and single/twin) are included in the plans. Detailed drawings show special cuts and fastening methods. Pine, fir, cedar or hardwoods may be used for the frame and cutting the parts and assembling can be accomplished with handheld tools. Two different post designs are also provided. Bed, Futon Sofa - with table
Providing a place for guests to sleep usually means devoting an entire room, but with this futon and sofa design, you get the comfort and fold-up functionality of a futon bed plus the style and space-saving aspects of a sofa. It is easy and inexpensive to make the simple frame for the bed and sofa. Standard board sizes are specified and the folding mechanism uses common hinges and roller wheels. Parts fasten mainly with screws which are concealed with solid wood plugs. The table is also easy to make. Full-size, traceable patterns are given for all the parts so you can transfer outlines directly to the material. Largest of the two projects is the sofa at 91 inches wide x 36 inches deep. The bed utilizes a standard, queen-size futon mattress (60 x 80"). The table is 18 inches high x 36 inches wide x 18 inches deep. This pattern pack consists of 3 pages, 30x40 inches.
